Food For Thought: Project Green Earth
At Susan Lawrence we have always been committed to exploring ways to use
renewable resources and environmentally sustainable alternatives. Our
cooking oils are recycled into bio fuel, all cardboard is recycled, and we
use as many 'green' products as possible. In an effort to reduce paper
waste, we encourage customers to shop with our reusable and ecco-friendly
cloth 'green' bags. And we are proud to offer a full line of disposable
dinnerware made of 100% organically grown bamboo which is totally
biodegradable and environmentally friendly. We offer only sodas on tap,
because we feel canned beverages create a huge negative impact on the
environment. And we try not to 'over-package' or waste valuable resources.
In addition to being mindful about recyclables we also understand the impact
that organic farming has on health and the environment. Whenever possible,
we seek out local farmers who are committed to a natural approach for
growing vegetables, fruit and other pure foods. Free range eggs, organic
poultry, bison meat, heirloom variety apples, artisanal cheeses and honey,
are just some of the many quality foodstuffs that we bring to Susan
Lawrence. Our effort to create a wholesome cuisine from the very best and
freshest local and organic products is part of an ongoing project to move
toward environmental responsibility and an increase in our reliance on
organic provisions.
